למרות שמחשבי אפל מאוד חזקים ביחס לאחרים, הדיסק הקשיח עדיין נחשב לרכיב המתכלה ביותר גם במותג זה. ברוב המחשבים עדיין יש דיסקים קשיחים מכניים עם תוקף של בין 3 ל-5 שנים. הזמן משחק כאן תפקיד חשוב: מהירות הדיסק יורדת ככל שהוא חולף וכתוצאה ישירה – גם תפקוד המחשב.

לפני פעולת החלפה של דיסק, אנחנו דואגים קודם כל לשמור את החומר של הלקוח שנמצא בתוכו. במידה והדיסק תקול, אנחנו יודעים לשחזר את החומר ברמת הרכיב בדיסק (לדוגמא, החלפת ראשים).

אנחנו נתקלים לא מעט בבקשות לשדרג את הדיסק לדיסק יותר מתקדם כדוגמת   SSD. גם כאן, כברירת מחדל בעבודה שלנו, אנחנו מעבירים את כל החומר מהדיסק הישן לחדש.

תיקון לוח אם במחשבים של אפל הוא תהליך מורכב יותר ביחס למחשבים אחרים. הסיבה לכך היא צפיפות גבוהה של הרכיבים בלוח האם. כאשר צריכים לבצע תיקון באחד מרכיבי הלוח, יד לא מיומנת יכולה לפגוע ברכיבים אחרים, לסבך את התיקון ולגרום להוצאות נוספות מיותרות. מכיוון שלא פשוט להשיג רכיבים מסוימים של מחשבי אפל, התיקון עשוי להימשך זמן רב. לכן, יד מיומנת ומנוסה תציל את התיקון מסיבוכים והוצאות שלא לצורך.

תיקון מקלדת במחשבי מקבוק הוא שונה לגמרי מתיקון מקלדות של מחשבים מחברות אחרות. מדוע זה כך? בכל מחשבי APPLE המקלדת מוטבעת בתוך המסגרת של המחשב ופירוקה אינו קל.

תהליך ההחלפה ארוך יותר ביחס למחשבים אחרים ודורש מיומנות גבוהה, מפני שחובה לפרק את כל המחשב בכדי להגיע אליה.

מסכי מק מתחלקים לשתי קטגוריות עיקריות:

מסכי איימק

במסכי איימק, החלק העדין ביותר הוא הזכוכית מעל מסך התצוגה. בשל כך, החלפתו דורשת דיוק רב ומיומנות גבוהה. מדובר בתנועת יד מהירה בעת ההחלפה, אחרת המסך החדש נהרס.

מסכי מקבוק

מחשבי מקבוק הינם מסובכים הרבה יותר ודורשים מיומנות עוד יותר גבוהה, מכיוון שהמסך בנוי אל תוך גב המחשב (ככה מחשבי אפל שומרים על העיצוב הדק והנחשק שלהם). בזמן ההחלפה יש צורך בדיוק רב ועדינות.
